SURRENDER:

SUBMISSION:

2. an act of submitting something (as for consideration or inspection). Submit: to yield oneself to the authority or will of another ... to permit oneself to be subjected to something ... to defer to or consent to abide by the opinion or authority of another

3. the condition of being submissive, humble, or compliant

4. an act of submitting to the authority or control of another

Surrender is the relinquishing of control or possession, typically following resistance, conflict, or defeat. Surrender usually follows a struggle, implying a cessation of resistance against a superior force. Surrender often connotes defeat, resignation, or the abandonment of a fight.

Submission is the act of yielding to authority or presenting something for consideration, often implying a voluntary or formal compliance. Submission is often a proactive, voluntary act of compliance or formal offering. (pediaa.com)

Surrender: letting go of personal control after resistance has ceased.

Submission: willing alignment with Divine Will.

So surrender first. Cease the struggle against. Then submit in willing alignment to His Divine Will.

We must do both.

• Colossians 2:13-15 13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

In Colossians 2:14, "the record of debt" is "cheirographon," Strong's G5498. Meaning "something hand-written ("chirograph"), a manuscript, legal document, or bond." (biblehub.com)

This hand written I.O.U. of our legal debt for sin was nailed to The Cross along with Jesus Christ.

Is this not Worthy of our surrender and submission?
