On September 15, 2025 The Lord Said to me "A tripwire has been set."

I was unsure what this meant. I was unsure that I heard it correctly. In the United States, the past few weeks have been particularly challenging. There were a string of tragedies in quick succession. But these seem more grotesque. A mass shooting at a Catholic elementary school, as small children were in the sanctuary praying. The random, unprovoked murder by throat-slitting of a young lady who just sat down on public transit. The martyrdom of Charlie Kirk, a Christian conservative leader who hosted public-square debates at college campuses. People openly, unashamedly, mockingly celebrating his murder. Another mass school shooting at a public high school. A man beheaded by machete in front of his wife and child, which the murderer kicked his decapitated head around like a soccer ball before throwing it in a trash can.

The past few weeks have felt like an Exposure. An Exposure of the demonic that we don't typically see this overtly. It's been disorienting. And I do Deliverance, so I'm not unaware of demons. But this feels like a Transition. I felt strongly that what The Lord Said is tied to all this.

So I've been praying; asking The Lord what that prophetic word means. Then today He Told me to look up "tripwire set". Here is what He Led me to:

• Tripwires are set up to activate a mechanism when "tripped," or touched. The mechanism is commonly an alarm or explosives. A series of tripwires can be set to activate a series of explosions.

• In the military, actual tripwires are utilized. But also, smaller military units are sometimes deployed to areas of increasing tension, their presence serving as a deterrent to potential aggressors. If the smaller forward units are attacked, domestic support for escalatory response is generally assumed to be strong. This has been a common NATO tactic, which as a military tactic, is dubbed "tripwire." An attack on the small forward unit is the "tripwire" for escalation with larger forces.

So what is the application for The Church?

• I think this prophetic word means that a tripwire has been set to activate a subsequent spiritual explosion. Many churches reported increased attendance this past Sunday. Anecdotally, there is an increased engagement with Scripture. Gen Z seems to be particularly responding to God, as Charlie Kirk was well known on college campuses. Gen Z grew up with school shooting drills and being fed deception by adults they should have been able to trust. They grew up with an increasing drug epidemic among adults, their caregivers individually and societally. They grew up with mandated masks and forced isolation. They grew up with algorithms, avatars, memes, screenshots, pornography culture, and a cultural foundation of shifting sand. Gen Z must be water-logged from the constant fluidity and moral relativism. The Lord has been Moving on college campuses with large Revival events resulting in baptisms. The youth ministry is flourishing at the church where I am a member. God answers the cry of a hungry generation; hungry for a firm foundation of Steadfast Truth.

• We are in a spiritual war. Every Christian knows this, at least theoretically at a minimum. I think churches (especially evangelism teams as small forward forces) are "tripwire" forces scattered across the hostile territory of this earth. Was Charlie Kirk a tripwire?

• Is your church awake to the Mission and the battle strategies, both strategic (Great Commission) and tactical (actions for immediate objectives on the battlefield), for this current season? Are you awake, saint?
