Height Matters ... Part 2

Part 2: Fault lines

10/1/2025

Zechariah 14:4 (ESV)

4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

Isaiah 2:2

2 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it

The mantle of the Earth covers the Earth's core. The mantle is thick, mostly solid, and makes up about 84% of Earth's total volume and 67% of its mass. On top of the mantle is the Earth's crust. The crust is the solid, rocky outer layer composed of the less-dense continental crust, which forms the landmasses; and the more-dense oceanic crust, which covers the ocean basins. (nationalgeographic.org)

The upper mantle and the crust together form a rigid layer called the lithosphere. Which is broken into large, moving pieces known as tectonic plates. The movement of tectonic plates is responsible for major geological events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, mountain formation, and the creation of ocean basins and continents (ugc.berkeley.edu & manoa.hawaii.edu). Movement of tectonic plates can form fault lines.

Israel is located in a geologically unique region. Located at the boundary of the African and Arabian tectonic plates, Israel is seated on the Great Rift Valley (map above) and the Dead Sea Transom Fault (map below). The Dead Sea was actually formed by the slow separation of the African and Arabian plates. It is "dead" because there is no inlet or outlet to for the water that collects in the basin. The water evaporates, leaving the minerals and salt; making the Dead Sea one of the saltiest bodies of water on Earth.

How does all this tie in together?

To put it simply....when Jesus Returns...

God Will lift up Mount Zion to exceed Mt Hermon in height!

Micah 4:1

The Mountain of the Lord

4 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it

God is Capable to do this any way that He Wants. The Wording in Zechariah 14:4 of Mt Olives splitting and moving north and south does sound like tectonic plate activity. Israel is basically completely bordered by fault lines. It seems possible that Israel could even fully separate from the Arabian and African plates.

Zoom out even more...this means that when God Created the Earth; He Constructed the tectonic plates to accommodate this future event! He Created tectonic plates KNOWING that He would Place Israel in this exact location.

God may well Raise Up Mt Zion. The Lord may also Lay Mt Hermon low.

Psalm 97:5 & 9

5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth... 9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.

Isaiah 54:9-10

9 “This is like the days of Noah to me: as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, and will not rebuke you. 10 For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

However He Does this...I cannot wait to see it! Yahweh and King Jesus Deserve to Rule from THE highest mountain! Take a moment, saint, to thank Him for His Attention to Detail, and His Plan even from before He Created this Earth.

Psalm 68:16

16 Why do you look with hatred, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount that God desired for his abode, yes, where the Lord will dwell forever?

In Jesus's name!
