Fire and Sulfur: Part 1

Part 1: The fire is eternal. Is the torment?

12/30/2025

For the past week, The Lord has been talking to me about the Lake of Fire. Hell has been a topic that has been Raised for discussion recently, in The Church in general. In this post, I am sharing with you what The Lord has Said to me in regards to this topic. I want to be clear: I am not sharing the results of my own study. I am not trying to steelman an argument. I am sharing prophetic revelation. This is what God has Talked to me about, as He Led me on this topic. The information has come in pieces, as it often does. A breadcrumb trail, Led by Him. On large, complex topics, that is often how it plays out. I am sharing this in the order of revelation.

Revelation 20:7-10 (ESV) - The Defeat of Satan - 7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

  • So FIRST, at the Battle of Armageddon: the beast and the false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:19-20).

  • Satan is then locked up while Christ Reigns on earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3).

  • Then satan is released for one last rebellion. Then the devil / satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire and Sulfur. At this point in the revelation, I must admit that I realized the beast and satan appear to be two different entities.

  • Then The Final Judgment occurs, all the dead being raised at last. Death and hades are thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:12-14). Hades was the realm of the dead. Hades in Greek, Sheol in Hebrew. (Click here to read my article about Sheol, Hades, etc.).

  • Then humans are Judged.

Revelation 20:12-15 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Matthew 25:41-46 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

  • Scripture clearly Says that the lake of fire is both eternal fire and eternal torment for satan and his angels.

  • Scripture clearly Says that condemned humans go to the same location, the same lake of fire.

  • Condemned humans go to the same location as the spirits they chose to commune with. These people hate God. It is not a punishment to them to be away from God, they want to be away from Him!

  • Scripture clearly Says that the punishment for condemned humans is eternal.

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 - The Judgment at Christ's Coming - 5 This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— 6 since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from* the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

  • The footnote in verse 9 says this: 'Or destruction that comes from."

  • Let's write that translation out..... They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, the destruction that comes from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.

  • So, it could also be translated as being destroyed BY the presence of The Lord.

  • In verse 9, it says eternal destruction. The word translated as destruction is this: ὄλεθρος, ruin, doom, destruction (Pocket Lexicon to the Greek New Testament in Logos app).

  • Definition of ruin: 1) The state of being physically destroyed, collapsed, or decayed. 2) The state of being extensively harmed or damaged. 3) Poverty of bankruptcy.

  • Definition of doom: 1) Inevitable destruction or ruin. 2) A decision or judgment, especially an official condemnation to a severe penalty. 3) Judgment Day.

Eternal Life is certainly a Gift from God (Romans 6:23) Were humans originally intended to have an eternal destination? Or was death always the plan, and the Gift of Eternal Life the anomaly?

Genesis 2:16-17 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 3:22-23 22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.

Romans 5:12 - Death in Adam, Life in Christ - Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned...

Ephesians 2:1-3 - By Grace Through Faith - 2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Genesis 6:1-3 - Increasing Corruption on Earth - 6 When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

Revelation 22:1-2 - The River of Life - 22 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

  • In Eden, the only tree forbidden to man initially was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

  • Tree of Life was not forbidden until after man sinned.

  • Sin brought death to humanity.

  • In New Jerusalem, we will eat from The Tree of Life.

  • I want to add this: I know there are Scriptures about "second death", but The Lord did not include them in this discussion so I will not add them. I am putting what He Brought to me; in the order He Brought it.

Mark 9:45-48 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48 ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’

Isaiah 66:24 “And they shall go out and look on the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

  • The fire is eternal.

  • The worm never dying speaks to an eternal decay.

There is more. But this enough for Part 1. Part 2 will include some geography. Saints, please pray for further revelation on what The Lord is Speaking about here.

In Jesus's name.
